Silicagel; Silica nickname: Silica gel is a highly active adsorption material, which is an amorphous substance. Due to its high temperature resistance (it can also be reflowed), silica gel is usually used to directly package on LED chips. Generally, silica gel lenses are small in size and 3-10mm in diameter. Due to the larger the product volume, the higher the production cost, and it is less commonly used in other aspects besides LED chip packaging.
3. High power LED bead glass lens:
The main benefits of optical glass materials are that their light transmittance can reach up to 97% and they have high temperature resistance; But it also faces factors such as single product shape, fragility, difficulty in batch production, low production efficiency, and high cost. Although few domestic manufacturers have started to develop glass molding processes and use mold casting to produce glass lenses, they can produce lenses of various shapes and special surfaces. However, the price of such production equipment is high now and it is difficult to widely expand in the short term. In addition, the fragile defects of glass materials still need to be discussed and addressed. Due to the high transmittance and cost of glass material lenses, they are commonly used in optical precision instruments.

PMMA originates from the English word acrylic, with the chemical name polymethyl methacrylate, commonly known as organic glass. In Hong Kong and Taiwan, PMMA is commonly referred to as acrylic. This material is an early developed important plastic polymer material with good transparency and chemical stability. Plastic materials have the same characteristics as PC materials, such as easy molding, high production efficiency, light weight, and resistance to impact. At the same time, their light transmittance is about 93% when the thickness is 3mm; The defect is that the temperature cannot exceed 85 ° C and the hot deformation temperature is 92 ° C. Due to its good transmittance, high mass production efficiency, and low cost, this material is widely used in various optical lenses.
